I believe that credit for the early years of CAMP goes largely to California
governor George Deukmejian, a Republican who took office in 1983, rather
than his predecessor Jerry Brown.

On the web, the "P" seems to stand for Planting(s) as well as Production and
even Propagation. Perhaps there's a reason for that.

Although some of the questions recently
raised here probably call for some original research (as far as this forum
is
concerned), there's a good chance a
lot of CAMP info has already been covered in discussions on this list. Doug
might've made a substantial contribution, actually.

Anyway, here's one blast from the pynchon-l past:
