No date is given in the text, but I'd say it's definitely not May 1969. DL
has been with 24fps for quite a while, and her relationship with Frenesi has
developed over a substantial period of time, before the events at College of
the Surf take place. The reference to "the Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson
Airplane, Country Joe and the Fish" (117) and their "jukebox solidarity"
(118) with the Student Movement -- anti-War and civil rights sensibilities
particularly (and contrast this with the College of the Surf kids listening
to "Mike Curb Congregation records on the radio", p. 205) -- would date it
sometime in early-to-mid 1967 I think.

And, just to correct something else, I've never said that the meeting
between DL and Frenesi occurred in 1964. What I have said is that the
comparison which Rex makes on page 208 is between the formation of student
radical organisations: ADHOC at College of the Surf is "not much by Berkeley
or Columbia standards". My argument is that "Berkeley ... standards" in this
context refers back to the protest movement which began there in 1964, and
"Columbia standards" refers to events there in 1968. Disagree if you like,
but please don't continue to misconstrue my argument.
