 Sixties glamour can still make converts in surprising

I wonder what exactly the proud Authorities at Columbia are citing? An
event in 1968? 
Couldn't be the Rudd Fiasco. Certainly not the IARSM (International
Assembly of Revolutionary Shouting Matches) "flop" (Guardian, New Left
Notes).  1960s rebellion? 
November 1966, the SDS local at Columbia University managed to attract
several hundred students for a a march and peaceful petition to the
administration protesting the 
presence on campus of recruiters from the CIA. When CIA recruiters
returned in Feb 67, Columbia faced its first sit-in and first physical
disruption as eighteen members of a minority faction in campus SDS
blocked doors to interview rooms. The action has been cited as an
example of the division within SDS chapters over politics and tactics,
since the chapters leadership and majority issued a formal statement
disapproving the sit-in.

Confusion and Individualism on the local chapter level--as typified by
the Columbia University chapter--was indicative of the lack of a
cohesive program, this despite the policy resolutions at national
meetings which gave the appearance of some sort of coherence and
purpose. 

I noted that Ned Flanders' parents were Beatniks. 

Frenesi is attracted to DL and Brock Vond (both are men in uniform,
Moody), but why is DL so hung up on Frenesi? Those eyes, the legs, the
miniskirt idealism and courage? DL's Mother is a Christian, she cheats
on her husband Moody. He beats her. Sometimes DL eggs him on, cause she
wants her mom to fight back, cause she wants to fight back too. 

SOmething in her back pages, I guess, deceived into thinking she had
someone to protect.
