I like your term.  "Late-late-late" implies that the end is near.  Then we'd 
be back into "post" modernity.  I've been calling the present period 
"neo-modernity," which is sort of ironic because modernity is supposed to 
already be new.  But as we now see it the "modern" era was a historic period 
now being revived.
