If you want to read some more Pynchon, I'd suggest *V* is his second-best 
work.  It is also closely related to Gravity's Rainbow thematically.  I'd 
suggest leaving GR on the shelf for at least a year, letting it soak in.  
Then a SLOW second read might really open it up for you.
