I especially recommend it for the few of you who in
the past have used Pynchon-L to cheerlead for the "War
on Terrorism" and who have here suggested that Pynchon
supports same. 

A few days ago, before US Tube finally picked up on
the horror story of US abuse of its prisoners in Iraq,
Afghanistan, and elsewhere, an embedded reporter
described the sounds of worshippers gathered in
mosques as the US bombarded Falluja; it reminded me of
the passage in GR with Advent singing during the air
attacks on Britain.

...and on to the "Negropontoid" (that's the way a Tube
head just said it) debate in the Senate, completing an
arc loinking the Reagan-Bush Administration behind the
scenes in_Vineland_ to the current display of US power
