match our man's.
this book also published in 1990, so evidence of influence is shaky unless
somehow they're friends ... which of course isn't impossible as it was,
after all, JCB who "outed" JD Salinger as Pynchon in SoHo News, back in the
day (and got a letter from TRP for his effort).
