Cracker Jack was told that he was a Black
"Look, it's written in whip marks up and down your back."
The kids taught to him to play the watermelon man 
They taught him to rap and to juke and to jam. 

The kids told stories

But they couldn't teach Jack, or make him wise. 
And they couldn't prevent Jack from feeling happy
