Ah, thanks, I was wondering where that story came
from.  As a child, right?  Also interesting in that
passage, however, is that osmotic divide betwixt the
human and the non-human, "Are TV sets brought alive by
broadcast signals, like the clay bodies of men and
women animated by the spirit of God's love?"  The
human AS non-human, dead matter animated by divine
will, AS golem.  Such binaries seem never to be left
untroubled in Those Pynchonian Texts, no?  Yes ...
