Yesterday he discussed with pupils at an Oldenburg high school. The topic
wasn't the actual war but business & media. In his initial speech he
introduced the pupils into the history of media and propaganda in the 20th
century:

The last four people who received the "Carl-von-Ossietzky-Preis für
Zeitgeschichte und Politik" have been Uri Avnery, Sergej A. Kowaljow, Hans
Mommsen and Prof. Dr. Israel Gutmann.
Carl von Ossietzky had stayed between February 1934 until May 1936 at the
Concentration Camp Esterwegen (some fifty kilometers vom Oldenburg). When
our university was founded in 1972 it had been decided that it's name should
be "Carl- von-Ossietzky-Universität" but the CDU/SPD- government of Lower
Saxony refused the name first. It lasted until the early eighties and a
red-green government at Hannover before the university could take the name
officially.
