VLVL2 (15): Pynchonisms (pp. 363 - 66)

Forgive me if these have been mentioned and/or discussed at length already, but:
1. Lots of repetition of "zeros" so far: the Zero Inn (363), a typical Pynchonesque pun on an eating/drinking establishment; Weed and Prairie referring respectively to "zero out the account" (364) and if "your account is zeroed out at last" (365). I haven't watched it closely, but has zero been a prominent number throughout the novel (like the quintuple zero in GR)?
2. The "shadow-patched flourescent bulbs" (366) harken back to Byron in GR.
3. The "Thanatoid dogs" (366) continues Pynchon's obsession with man's best friend, seen with Pointsman in GR, Desmond in VL, etc.
