VLVL2 Vineland as "pro-Reagan"?

No argument here.  Indeed, to "simplify" a piece of writing is a huge
disservice to both author and work.  But I still haven't seen anyone
demonstrate through textual support (rather than his/her mere "spin" on the
novel) how P in *any* way sympathizes with what we might (for lack of a more
specific term) call "right wing" sentiment.
