Hardly necessary to point out the obvious, pardner,
that Pynchon is not "endorsing the right" (assuming
that means what I think it means).  My focus remains
on Vineland's scathing portrayal of the neofascist
Nixon-Reagan-Bush police state that jbor ignores in
the rush to embrace the Nixon-Reagan-Bush critique of
