Wallensteinism
While doing my job yesterday evening I was able to listen to some
interesting stuff on Deutschlandfunk (my favourite German radio station)
about the "outsorcing" of violence; those modern mercenaries fighting for
the US-government for example in Iraq and Columbia.
There's a "Radio on demand"-button on the DLF-website, so it's possible to
listen to that broadcast again (sorrily the first ten minutes are missing),
which is what I did this morning because I had missed the last part.
I learned the name "DyneCorps," so I did a web-search for that name. To my
astonishment I only got three hits on Google and Yahoo. The assertion being
made in the broadcast that the increasing use of "private contractors" who
are operating in a grey zone (paid by US-taxes via the Pentagon) has hardly
been perceived by the public seems to be true:
"There were no matches for your search DyneCorps"
