Ah, well... it sounds a bit like trying to keep in with both sides, 
but sounds more sensible than the idea of a Reaganite Pynchon. But 
can I suggest you a little thing? What about reading his novels as 
nodes in a network? As time goes by, I am more and more persuaded 
that Pynchon's novels are a system, a single interconnected work. We 
should all re-read Balzac, you know.

Thus, what about Vineland coming after GR and before M&D?
