What is really sorry is your inability to read.  I gave you evidence: Pynchon's notes to an album by Spike Jones, as well as the section in GR where Slothrop's  disdain (and also TP's) for the romantic bombast of Beethoven is made abundantly clear. And what  about the image in GR of the cosmic blues harp, hmm, maestra? His criticism of CP Snow is also somewhat telling of his general anti-bourgeois and anti-aristo spirit. If you are reading TP as some sort of Henry James or TS Eliot sort of belle-lettrist, I got news for ya hermana: you missed the phuckin' bus....
