It's the best kept secret in America: The cult author of "Gravity's
Rainbow", the silent writer who has always refused any contact with
journalists, is said to have undertaken the editorial work on a new
novel, according to Michael Naumann, director of "Die Zeit" and former
co-worker of Pynchon's editor, Henry Holt. The action is taking place in
Gottingen around the turn of the century and narrates the adventures of
a young Russian mathematician
