Thanks for the Cliffsnotes to the Republic 200 Cyruss, but if you knew more about Platonism --both big P and small p--you would have discerned a few things: 
 
--advocating censorship of the "inspired madness" of lyric poetry may or may not imply a belief in the entire platonic ontology (Marx also criticized belle-lettrists) ; 
 
--platonism has been for centuries (and is still by some conservatives) held as a logical explanation of abstract entities (the real numbers, classes, functions, various mathematical universals) , and modern logicians such as Frege , Russell, and Quine  adhered to, or acknowledged  various platonic concepts.
 
--Moreover,  the platonic "Deity" has little to do with judeo-christianity....and its mostly  lit. creeps that have seemingly decided that "truth" doesn't "exist" ( though not recognizing the juvenile  contradictions in that assumption)
