Defining and establishing the existence of 'matter' is equally 
burdensome unless your a materialist fundamentalist.

In the end there'za lotta fast movin footwork out there, what with the known universe bein a virtual event and all. 
I personally find the words of Popeye the sailorman to be helpful when faced with these cosmic identity crises, "I yam wut I yam and that's all wut I yam".
