Trying to bait me, in other words. But it is surprising that all the news
about the new novel -- that it is currently being edited, what it is about
-- has come from outside America.
And just to correct the false impression subscribers might have from your
post, the status of that "Playboy Japan interview" is still highly dubious.
But I guess if it does eventually turn out that Pynchon willingly gave an
interview to a journalist from Playboy Japan (any hint of confirmation on
that front yet, by the way?), it adds further to the insinuation regarding
"the best kept secret in America" made in the French article which Erik
generously posted to the list.
