another sighting of rumo[u]r of new Pynchon book...

Playboy Japan vouched for the interview with Pynchon.
This has been hashed, re-hashed,  re-re-hashed, and
re-re-re-hashed here.  Pynchon Notes - publisher of
jbor's own paper on Pynchon - even included the
interview in its bibliography.

What's not clear at all is why the simple fact of
Playboy Japan publishing an interview with Thomas
Pynchon provokes such anxiety in jbor. 

jbor, have you got any evidence to offer that
substantiates the  claims you've made since this first
came up, namely,  that Playboy Japan did not publish
this interview,  and, later, that if it did publish
the interview it had to be a fraud?  (You could also
address the logical abyss separating those two
positions, if you'd like.) Evidence, please.  Names,
dates, quotes from people you've interviewed on the
subject, etc.  

I think the truth here is that, coming so soon after
jbor proclaimed Pynchon a supporter of Bush's
"bounce-the-rubble" air attack on poor Afghanistan and
a supporter of Bush's so-called "war on terror" in
general, jbor had to deny the reality of the Playboy
Japan interview in which Pynchon had some harsh things
to say about the Bush family doing business with Bin
Laden & etc. Which also lead jbor to take such an
extreme, indefensible, and ultimately ridiculous
position about Pynchon's Intro to _1984_.

Reminds me of the way "Bubble-Boy" Bush denies reality
when it interferes with his prejudices. Perhaps it's
contagious, Bush followers taking on this
reality-denying syndrome the way some Christians get
the stigmata.
