I've got the impression that the one of the "authors" of the text I've
talked to liked keeping the indeterminacy* whether it's an authentic
interview or not, so I decided for myself it is not.

I think it's a quite different case, not really to compare to the Japanese
interview which I consider as authentic as long as nobody's able to prove
otherwise. Sorrily I simply don't know anybody from Japan and my Japanese is
limited to what I've learned from "Shogun."
