unsubstantiated rumor that Melanie Jackson denied Playboy Japan "interview"

Cute, Keith.  Of course I don't present myself as a
Pynchon scholar, only an interested amateur enthusiast
who makes occasional bibliographic contributions to
Pynchon Notes. I do think it's funny to see jbor, so
often in professorial bore mode in this forum, 
passing along unsubstantiated rumor (and perhaps
changing the details of the story along the way) just
to make a point in this thread.

And, I'm not passing along rumors, but information
that I have acquired directly from the people who have
made inquires regarding the interview, information
that I've made some efforts to corroborate. There's a
difference.

I'm still hoping the p-lister who called Melanie
Jackson's office will tell us what transpired.
