Seriously, one of my MD favorites is the 1957 soundtrack for
Malle's "Ascenseur pour l'échafaud" ("Lift to the Scaffold")
which Miles & his French band improvised while watching the
movie. Impressive impressionism. (When not playing trumpet,
he was playing around with Jeanne Moreau, the leading lady.)
