Thx, Paul--will be on the lookout for this

No info on Denver quarterly site as of yet

I wonder if Mr Gibbs would be against making his work available. We are
the perfect audience after all ;)

Subject: essay about Pynchon's Minstral Island

Hi,

I just wanted to let members of the Pynchon list know that the new issue
of
Denver Quarterly (Volume 39, Number 1) includes an essay by Rodney Gibbs
about Minstral Island, the musical that Pynchon wrote with Kirkpatrick
Sale
while they were in college. As a former member of this list--I lurked,
largely, enjoying listening in--I figured folks would want to know about
the
essay, which may be the first about the play. According to UT's Ransom
Center, which has the musical along with other papers from Faith Sale,
Gibbs
was the first, second, and third person to even look at the material. He
did
his research this spring. The essay's called "A Portrait of the Luddite
as a
Young Man."

Hope you're all well.

Paul
