Sure, I'll harp on word choice as much as the next guy
(and there's veritable heavenly choir of such harpists
here, so ...), but I've yet to see why this is an
issue, EXCEPT perhaps as a recurring continuation of
bickering by, er, the same damn means.  As Keith sez,
"to get a rise out of," well, each other, apparently. 
As Keith also witticizes (no, seriously ...), "he
doesn't want to hang with anyone."  DeLillo, maybe,
but ... well, one says "reclusive," the other, I don't
know, "private" or somesuch, let's call the whole
thing off ...
