the inadequacies of the bogus philosopher are always material in origin, 
hence the more abstraction needed to cover them up.  derrida had squat to do 
with real deconstruction, which is essentially a nietzschean procedure.  
(that's why foucault, a real thinker and true materialist following 
nietzsche and freud, absolutely never had anything to do with derrida, or 
lacan for that matter, despite constantly being lumped together with him by 
the kind of douchebags who compelled me to get out of philosophy in the 
first place.  p.s. some non-douchebag on this list pointed that out.)  
derrida was basically a mediocre heideggerean phenomenologist, whose one 
novel philospophical procedure was to posit a text-based and text-exclusive 
ontology.  as with heidegger, such a procedure is bound, syllogistically, to 
ahistoricize whatever it touches--hence the gag-reflex-inducing jargon of 
'ruptures' and 'silence' and 'difference' and 'alterity,' a boon for 
everyone and their mother (or in their mother's clothes) with a beef against 
'systems' and the lack of intellectual chops to introduce their ideas in a 
systematic context.  basically, i think derrida used heidegger to evade 
having to understand kant or hegel or marx, rationalized heidegger's far 
more concrete motivations for the use of 'ontology,' and, when the nazis 
began to appear out of the mist, took a page out of the master's book and 
ontologized away the last of any comprehensible associations between his 
'thought' and the kind of shit that happens in the real world--both the 
academic one and the one where people actually do express themselves and use 
toilet paper and so forth.
