Constructing (or, determining, if you will) a cause
after the effect is a rather common activity, and not
always simple and straightforward - ask the armies of
lawyers, detectives, crime victims, doctors, patients,
heirs, and Tube addicts if it's trivial, clear-cut,
easy, obvious...
