Professors of Cultural Theory certainly don't seem to be taken very
seriously by educated Americans or American intellectuals (if there are
such creatures) and I've wondered how the poor ignored souls feel about
this. Does it give them pause? Does it make them feel irrelevant? Does
it make them angry? Does it make them rant about America even more than
they might otherwise have cause to do?

I'm not disallowing that criticism of the U.S. might often be justified.
We're certainly pretty messed up at the moment.
