I'm not familiar with Pynchon's comments about COL49 in slow learner. But
my own objection to it is that it is a one-trick pony. Oedipa's paranoia
just grows and grows, ever finding more reasons to believe in some vast
conspiracy. Is it all in her head? Maybe, mabe not. So what? No real
development beyond that simple obvious theme. At least that's how I
remember it, but it has been a while (at least 12 years).
V and GR are just so much more rich, and never get tedious.
