Yes.  But it is related to Calvanism because "to believe" is an action, a 
"work" which is the requirement for salvation.  Thus one who has "faith" is 
one who has "believed," which implies he has done the required action to 
earn salvation.  Calvan tried to escape this contradiction by way of 
predestination, whereby God ordained, enabled, those who would believe to do 
so.

I think this would be circular logic, but so is much of Chrisianity.
