Fiction vs History?

The cosmos is multidimensional froth of billions and billions of Carl
Sagans, each seized of a subtly different Idea and yet All,
inexplicably, wearing turtlenecks. Perhaps they are trying to tell us
that it is turtles, all the way down... Billions and billions of
turtles. What does it mean to seek the Historical Sagan?
