The people of the Nation are scattered to the four winds. The Fens are
overrun by the barbarian children of the oligarchy. The South End is
crawling with yuppies. Where the mighty Rat once stood, a giant yellow
wedding cake insults the surrounding architecture. When I ask the
convenience store clerk where the tonic is, he shakes his head in
confusion. They didn't call it that where he's from. 

Babe Ruth. Pesky and Slaughter. Lonborg and champagne. Fisk's mighty
blast. Bucky Fucking Dent. Buckner is forgiven. Old men shed tears of
relief and nostalgia. Everything has changed. There is no going back.
