This rex 84 thing sounds sooo wayback nutball that I have difficulty
crediting it with a basis in reality. Especially that given that
straight-faced reference in someone's earlier post to a facility in
Fairbanks that is meant to hold 2 million prisoners. That is a whole
lot of human beings. It's tough to visualize how big big numbers really
are. There aren't as many as a million people in all of Alaska.

Where in the NY times did you see this? Are you sure it wasn't The
Village Voice? Perhaps in one of those Ridgwood & Cockburn articles
from the early 80's?  
(or was it Ridgecock Woodburn? Ridgeburn Cockwood? Cockridge
Burnhamwood? I can't remember...)

Strange s**t going down, for sure, but really...
