supplements for Pynchon reading group

A small group of friends and I are starting a Pynchon reading group.  Might 
anyone suggest some good companion books (or essays) to supplement our 
readings?

We're also putting together a massive list of books of the Mindfuck genre 
and welcome any suggestions you might have. (On the list thus far: Pynchon 
[of course], Dick, Borres, Shea, etc)
