<< Btw, I've mentioned DuBois' _The Devil's Chemists_ (1952) before, and asked
what exactly it is in GR that Pynchon is supposed to have cribbed from
Richard Sasuly alone: >>

Sasuly, working for some security or intelligence branch of the army or
government, had access to IG Farben's files after the war. Many had been
destroyed, intentionally or otherwise, but many survived. Sasuly's book provided
Pynchon with the record and history of industrial collusion between the IG and the
allied companies who sought to maintain relations. It's been a while since
I've read Sasuly but, when I did, I was struck by passages that seemed barely
altered by Pynchon and would make obvious to any half-observant reader that
clearly this was P's source for the similar materials in GR.
