One of the best live covers I have ever heard was the Cave Dogs version of
"Rain". Very daring. Big Dipper's version of "Bazooka Joe" and Bob Mould's
"Surrender" are different ideas all together. Oddity, I heard Bob Mould and
Naked Raygun both do "Surrender" as encores in the same week. Bob's version
was much better than N.R.'s mostly because it was completely non-ironic. It
was the Black Sheets of Rain tour. Some of the most depressing music written
since the death of Mahler. He brought us all back down to earth with a Cheap
Trick cover as an encore. He blew the fucking roof off of the place.
