Blood Meridian

Whether this one is his best I guess is a matter of opinion...but it
is the one that gets the most attention from fans and detractors
alike. None of the other works combines high literary style and
Pekinpaugh-style ass kicking the way "Blood Meridian" does. I was
surprised to read somewhere that Harold Bloom (FWIW) lists this one
among his top five fave novels. Going anywhere from here you are
bound to be disappointed, O Great Quail. The "Judge" was one of the
most fascinating characters I've encountered anywhere...absolutely
loved this book.
