I picked up Actress in the House and Lookout Cartridge at about the same time 
and have begun with the latter.   I've been with it a while, breaking to read 
other things.

My reaction to it is, so far (and unlikely to change) singular, for books 
I've read, in that I don't find it hard to follow, the story is interesting and 
the writing is excellent, the product of an obviously strong and rigorous mind. 
  Yet, I struggle to stay engaged.   Damnedest thing ...
