Saul Bellow - high-minded joker?

_A Month of Sundays_ was the first of Updike's "Scarlet Letter" 
trilogy. The other two are _Roger's Version_ (1986) and _S._ (1988). 
All three are good -- _Roger's Version_ is probably the pick of the 
three.
