First, I tend to agree on some of the books but instead of the
general list being so rank and orderly, it might reflect a general
sense of a "if you like Pynchon you might like: ____________"
list.
Second, there might be an extra woman or two mentioned this time.
(Doris Lessing, Ali Smith, Byatt, Woolf, others).
