Brown's expansion  outwards/inwards/backwards/sideways/whatever from Freud, 
to include virtually  all (or, at least, many) of the most significant 
philosophers and thinkers in an  attempt to delineate an all-inclusive philosophy 
reminds me of another seminal  and brilliant work which is relatively 
little-known: The Act of Creation, by  Arthur Koestler, read many many years ago (prob. 
out of print these days  [?])...I was wondering whether others on the list were 
familiar with it and, if  so, what they thought of it, and would highly 
recommend it.
