Brown's expansion outwards/inwards/backwards/sideways/whatever from Freud,
to include virtually all (or, at least, many) of the most significant
philosophers and thinkers in an attempt to delineate an all-inclusive philosophy
reminds me of another seminal and brilliant work which is relatively
little-known: The Act of Creation, by Arthur Koestler, read many many years ago (prob.
out of print these days [?])...I was wondering whether others on the list were
familiar with it and, if so, what they thought of it, and would highly
recommend it.
