I've never heard of a G7 or G8-meeting that has changed a single bit of the
overall catastrophe that's going on in Africa.
Your belief in liars like Bush and Blair is remarkable. And most of the
others are lame ducks too, fighting desperately for their political survival
at home - Schroeder, Chirac, Berlusconi, Koizumi.
They've been not in Gleneagles to "ratify" any plans that have the slightest
chance to be turned into reality at all. They're there to play the media.
Therefore the terrorists have chosen London as their target too. Next time
it will be Rome, Paris, Amsterdam or Berlin. The topics discussed on the
meeting were of minor importance to the killers who were to cowardly to
attack the leaders directly.
If there's something to ratify then there's still the Kyoto-protocol (signed
by seven members of the club) Bush is still refusing to accept as a first
step.
You still see a difference between terrorism and taking the legal right to
demonstrate, don't you? Or is in your opinion everybody automatically a
supporter of terrorism who dares to differ from Mr. Bush's opinions?
The protestors in Edinburgh weren't there to "derail" the meeting. That's
simply not the truth, how could they? They were there to protest against the
hubris of those self-proclaimed "world leaders". They're protesting against
the neo-liberal agenda the G8-club is forcing upon all the other countries
which are in debt. That's an opinion. You may have another opinion on this
but that doesn't make those people bad democrats. They're definitely not
sided with the terrorists. They're simple ordinary people like the ones who
were the victims of the attacks in New York, London, Djerba, Istanbul and
Madrid.
The overwhelming majority of the demonstrators were peaceful protesters who
shouldn't be chased by those famous German dogs over green Scottish fields
like I've seen on CNN. Your defamation of them as "mob" while you are
complaining about the alleged misuse of the word "junta" at the same time is
absolutely inappropriate.

The G-8 leaders are meeting at Gleneagles to ratify plans to provide
further debt relief to African nations (those which aren't ruled by
corrupt despots and genocidal warlords), to discuss other ways of
easing African poverty, and to implement protocols aimed at reducing
global warming and long-term environmental degradation. Those are
issues that should be discussed, initiatives that should be supported
and put into effect.
What's most disturbing about yesterday's terrorist attack on London is
that the jihadists who perpetrated the bombings and the protestors in
Edinburgh seem now to be on the same "side". Both groups were
attempting to derail the G-8 meeting and to hijack the agenda of those
talks.
