Not really thought it out, but I always felt that 'Sombrero Fallout' faintly
reminded me of 'Lot 49'; the premise of the former novel working out two
simultaneous narratives reminded me slightly of the way the 'Courtier's
Tragedy' is inset into the main narrative, in terms of mirror texts
autonymously operating with/against main narratives (if you know what I
mean). I also think there's room for comparison in terms of neurosis between
Pynchon's and Brautigan's characters in 'Sombrero Fallout' & 'Lot 49' as
well.
Just an idea,
