Yes, and compared to _V._ and even _GR_, which are constructed 
basically in the same way, Mitchell's different "stories" aren't 
integrated effectively at all. The coincidences which supposedly link 
each chapter are improbable or gratuitous. Many of the protagonists are 
pretentious and annoying. Much of it seems very contrived.
