Stanley Kubrick

Just watched a documentary on Stanley Kubrick (A Life in Pictures), which made me think of the similarities between him and TRP.  Not so much the reclusive genius bullshit, as the intense pressure on them to create masterpieces (Kubrick was slightly more prolific, but failed more often).  Seeing 2001: A Space Odyssey when I was a kid, and reading GR only this year, were similarly life-altering experiences for me.  The first was much more than a film, the second much more than a novel.
