Once it became clear where (and when) we were in the 'Sloosha's 
Crossin' an' Ev'rythin' After' chapter, I could envisage what "will" 
happen in a global/historical sense in the remainder of the novel, and 
how some of the plot points of the separate sections will tie in with 
one another. I can see the way Mitchell has shaped the text too, moving 
chronologically forward and then back in time through the various 
episodes. It's quite an elegant structure, a sort of "V"-shape with 
Zachry's story as the pivot.

My only reservation at this point is whether the 'Timothy Cavendish' 
and 'Letters from Zedelghem' episodes are actually as superfluous as 
they appear to be, because they were the two sections which I found 
least interesting (annoying in fact).
