Pynchon appreciation in BookForum

I just read A Shadow in the City by Charles Bowden, a sort've
follow-up to Down By the River.

there were times when I thought this is trash and pretentious but
there is no faulting Bowden for the energy and some weird melancholic
exuberance he brings to the tale of an undercover narc.

currently starting a new biography of Norbert Weiner:  Dark Hero of
the Information Age.
