Of course that's the last thing Pynchon would be,
"tongue-in-cheek," known as he must be in at least one
part of the world as a writer who doesn't play games
with his readers or his "facts", is always
straightforward and clear,  where everybody agrees on
what's going on in his texts, & etc.  Oh yeah.
