Ten Most Harmful Books ...

This list of books was compiled not by a group of scholars seriously pondering the relationships between literature, history and society, but, rather, by a group of right-wing zealots pushing their reactionary agenda.  If there were a book entitled "How to Turn Nice, God-fearing Heterosexuals into Perverted Homosexuals,"  they would have included it on the list.  Instead, they had to use the Kinsey Report as an anti-gay proxy.

Have you read the summaries?

The Kinsey Report:
"(...) the Washington /Times/ reported last year when a movie on Kinsey 
was released. ? (...) The 1953 book also included reports of sexual 
activity involving girls younger than age 4, and suggested that sex 
between adults and children could be beneficial.?"

I've never read the Kinsey Report but this seems to be the reason for 
including the Report into the list.

The Feminine Mystique
"(...) disparaged traditional stay-at-home motherhood as life in ?a 
comfortable concentration camp?--a role that degraded women and denied 
them true fulfillment in life.

"disparaged" -- if that isn't reason enough!
